Coach Brody grew up in Rome, Ga where he attend Model High School. A 2015 Perfect Game All-American, rated No. 137 in the Perfect Game Top 200 High School Prospects. Brody would go to play his college ball at Louisiana State University (LSU) for 2 years before transferring to Chipola Junior College where he helped his team win the Junior College Nation Championship in 2017. That same year Brody was selected in the 14th round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds. He elected to go play in the Frontier League for 3 years before returning to Georgia to embark on his coaching career.
