Coach Connor grew up in Rome, Georgia and attended Rome High School. He also played travel ball underneath Charlie Culberson. After highschool he attended college at University of West Georgia. He then would transfer to Northwest Florida state University. He finished his collegiate career at Augusta University. He comes from a strong family background of baseball with his father having played professionally with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
